Depression and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling you are able to explore your own experience of these feelings and the impact they have on your life, recover motivation, and gain insight and perspective.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Therapy can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Abuse comes in many forms; physical, sexual, mental, emotional and financial. It can be difficult to understand when it is happening to you, especially when the abuser is manipulative and coercive. Exploring your experiences can help you process what is happening and regain some of the confidence and control taken away by abusers.
Loss leaves a big hole in our lives, whether we have suffered a bereavement or separated from a loved one, coming to terms with the loss and learning to carry on without someone can take time, counselling is a space where you can process your grief without the pressure of the outside world.
Confidence, self-worth, our own perception of ourselves and the value we give to ourselves can often become a problem in our lives affecting our relationships and daily activities. And often we hide behind masks to prevent others seeing our inner hurt, this is a space where you can truly be yourself without judgement and explore your inner thoughts and feeling.
Strong emotions can be difficult to understand and manage, learning to understand the cause can help you to separate the emotion (anger) from the behaviour (rage) helping those difficult feelings become more manageable.
